About Us
The Studio Door, a cultural hub in Hillcrest, San Diego for a decade, combines rotating contemporary art exhibitions with experiences perfect for hospitality and tourism sectors. Its location near Balboa Park and downtown, vibrant Mural Alley, and active artist studios attract both tourists and locals. This year, the gallery received the Larry T. Baza Award for Arts and Culture from San Diego Pride and joined the San Diego Tourism Authority Accelerator Cohort as its sole LGBTQ+ representative. Just anounced! - The Studio Door is now has its national LGBTQ+ Business Certification. The Studio Door reinforces its dedication to inclusivity, arts, and community connections.
Founder Patric Stillman, a dedicated advocate for LGBTQ+ visibility in the arts, has shaped The Studio Door as a dynamic, inclusive space for artists and patrons alike. His leadership and vision have driven the gallery’s key programs and community partnerships, making it a unique destination in San Diego.
